Live in the moment. Grownups have a terrible habit of living either in the past or the future. Babies, on the other hand, worry only about the present. Laugh a lot. There are certainly times to be serious, but chances are they’re not occurring 24-7. If you’re dealing with the adult equivalent of a dirty diaper, go ahead and frown. But, if life puts on a funny hat and pretends it’s a circus monkey, go with the good times.<br /><br />Number 8. Express yourself. If you’re mad, sad, or otherwise upset, let it out. Sure, sitting in the middle of the toy aisle at Walmart screaming at the top of your lungs won’t get you far, but careful communication may. If people don’t know how you’re feeling, they can’t help make it better.<br /><br />Number 7. Get Active. Next time you’re in the middle of a Netflix binge and have to hit pause repeatedly because the baby won’t stay in one place, you may consider joining them. Baby bonding and exercise, what’s not to like.<br /><br />Number 6. Stay curious. Licking frogs and sticking fingers in light sockets isn’t recommended for little or big people. However, making an effort to discover new things and learn more about the workings of the world around you is. Don’t even remember where to start? Local libraries are always a good place for such journeys to begin.<br /><br />Number 5. Learn a language. This will benefit you both, particularly if you practice together. You can pick up a new and highly beneficial skill while the little one gets a boost in brain development.<br /><br />Number 4. Be more open. Babies make friends with just about everybody they meet. Adults, not so much. Next time someone asks if you’d like to grab a cup of coffee, don’t scramble for an excuse, just say yes.<br /><br />Number 3. Eat when you’re hungry. The clock on the wall doesn’t know a lot about you, so it shouldn’t be in charge of your diet. Pay attention to your body’s cues. They could help you discern the difference between a donut eaten because of actual starvation versus one downed out of boredom, frustration, or just because it’s there.<br /><br />Number 2. Sleep when you’re sleepy. Napping doesn’t make you weak or lazy, but it does make you less fatigued, more alert, and not as likely to mess something up. When the situation allows, treat yourself to the extra z’s.<br /><br />Number 1. Keep practicing. Babies eventually get the hang of walking because they try it over and over again, no matter how disastrous the results have been. Most skills worth having take time to develop let alone master. Such an assist isn’t needed much any more, but many canines have found other uses for them.<br /><br />Number 7. Each wagging direction is governed by its own brain hemisphere. Whether it leans more to the left or the right depends largely on which mood, and thus which side of the brain, is dominant.<br /><br />Number 6. Rightward wagging communicates happiness. When good moods prevail, the left side of the brain takes over and controls the right side of the body, including the dominant tail movement direction. A leftward leaning indicates that fear and anxiety are the probable emotions ruling the situation.<br /><br />Number 5. Dogs can pick up on the wagging direction thing. Canines are able to recognize and interpret the bearing differences. Dogs exhibiting the happy right variety are deemed approachable, while the lefty waggers are not.<br /><br />Number 4. Tail shaking is an acquired skill. Puppies begin to learn the ins and outs of it when they’re ready to start communicating. That’s usually around the month and a half mark, and they start by tail talking with mom and their siblings.<br /><br />Number 3. They can come in handy when swimming. Some dogs are able to use their tails to navigate in the water. Retrievers tend to be especially good at it.<br /><br />Number 2. The tail is an extension of the spine. It’s much more flexible, however, and has its own set of muscles, anchors and discs. Following a suicide attempt, Carey made the decision to leave Ohio and head to Los Angeles. He got stuck in Las Vegas for a while, and had no place to stay. Much of her childhood was rocky and in her early teens she ran away from home. During the year she spent as one of America’s homeless she was lucky to make a friend and the two traveled the Pacific Northwest together.<br /><br />Number 3. Steve Harvey. The comedian and game show host found himself on the streets after a gig fell through. He told himself the rough spell was temporary, but it ended up lasting for 3 years.<br /><br />Number 2. Jewel. Her time without a home was brief, but nearly fatal. The singer has kidney issues and while without insurance couldn’t get medical attention. The braking mechanisms are specifically designed to provide optimal performance when pulling a full trailer. Further, the weight of the cargo helps keep the tires fixed to the road, giving them more traction.<br /><br />Number 6. Fully loaded trucks have a higher risk of rolling over. The load shifts the vehicle’s center of gravity upwards. Should there be a collision, a full semi is 10 times more likely than an empty one to lose its balance and flip.<br /><br />Number 5. In Europe they put the engines under the driver’s cab. That allows them to make flat-nosed fronts, which provide more cargo room. There, simply making a bigger trailer isn’t an option due to imposed limits on truck length.<br /><br />Number 4. Truck races are organized events.
