The Most Realistic Robotic Ass Ever Made

In the never-ending quest to bridge the uncanny valley, Japanese scientists have turned to one area of research that has, so far, gone ignored: the robotic ass.

Built by Nobuhiro Takahashi and a team at the Tokyo University of Electro-Communications, this is Shiri. Shiri, of course, means buttocks in Japanese, and the researchers claim that it "represents emotions with visual and tactual transformation of the muscles". Right.

While that might not be the most convincing statement you've ever read, the video certainly delivers: this is one mighty realistic ass.

The moves and twitches are made possible by a system of inflatable air bags, and the researchers believe that a user may even feel a simulated sense of fear when they trigger its twitch. Which is, obviously, demonstrated by good, firm buttock slap. Thank you, Nobuhiro. Thank you so, so much.

Women knits tiny sweaters for rescued chickens

Nikola Congdon and her mother Anne of Falmouth in Cornwall, England are committed to saving chickens and give them a new home.

They saved about 60 chickens, half of which have been grown and have lived their entire lives in cramped cages and, unfortunately, were unable to acclimate to normal weather conditions.

Two women have devised a way to help keep the chickens warm – they knit for them tiny sweaters. “It is important that people are aware of the poor conditions in which chickens are kept” “they have virtually no feathers,” – says Nicola.

You send your kids on playdates and your pup to doggy daycare. But what are your stuffed animals supposed to do?

A new cafe in Tokyo has the answer, opening its doors to guests of the plush variety — no humans allowed. Owners mail their stuffed animals to Nuigurumi Cafe, where they'll enjoy a bed-and-breakfast experience. About 85 percent of adult women in Japan own a stuffed animal, according to the cafe owners, who are quoted in Rocket News 24. And they think it's time for their fuzzy friends to have some fun.

Victorian Façade Hidden Garage

McMills Construction approached Beausoleil Architects for help installing a garage in the bottom floor of a property on Oak Street in San Francisco's Upper Haight district in order to maximize the tenant's rent.

By hiding the space behind a retractable facade indistinguishable from the rest of the historic Victorian apartment house, they were able to avoid running afoul of the city planning department strict appearance codes.

It has the ability to print the photos within one minute of taking the snap and while the photograph is printing, you can take other photographs.<br />

Named as Polaroid Snap, it has been put on display in IFA 2015, in Berlin, Germany. It features a 10MP digital camera alongwith a ZINK printer to print the snaps. The printing technology is zero ink. The photos are printed on a 2×3′ size. Like all the other digital cameras it has a micro SD slot with a maximum capacity to use a 32GB card. Which can be used to hold images that can be subsequently transferred to the computer.<br />

Indeed, this new innovation gives a modern twist to the already well-known Polaroid technology. Robert Brunner, who is an industrial designer and had previously worked with big companies like Adobe, Beats, Lyft etc, is at the forefront of this new innovation. According to Scott Harry of Polaroid, for the last 75 years Polaroid identity has been defined by products based on instant one click snapshot and its printing. This new innovation of using digital cameras is cheap and affordable.  The camera has been equipped with self-timers to take selfies. Similarly the camera is also equipped with a photo booth mode that enables it to take six photographs in less than ten seconds.<br />

The camera uses the famous patented ZINK paper. It is composed of advanced composite materials used in conjunction with the crystals of magenta, cyan and zink. The paper is covered with polymer overcoat. The adhesive back of the camera enables it to be used as a sticker as well.<br />
